COVID 19: Important Reminder

by operations

It is important to remember that all clubs and sporting organisations MUST have an approved COVID Safe plan in place.

Clubs and Associations are reminded that they are required to comply with the current Public Health Orders and that their COVID-19 Safety Plan is updated with additional requirements relating to minimising spectator attendance at community sport and ensuring measures are in place to exclude participants returning from Victoria in the past 14 days or who have attended a case location in NSW.

Clubs and Associations will be required to ‘take all reasonable steps to minimise the number of spectators attending community sport events’ (this includes any lawn bowls matches).

Both Bowls NSW & Womens Bowls NSW encourage all clubs and associations to put plans in place to minimise spectators where practical and to parents and carers only for junior matches.

It is also important that clubs have strict protocols in place, through their COVID Safe plan, for the cleansing and disinfecting of any shared equipment (e.g. jacks & mats) and that this should be done after every session of play.

An attendee list for all participants in any session of play should also be kept for a period, of at least, 28 days.

Clubs are strongly advised to keep monitoring the situation in the implementation of its COVID Safe Plan and ensure that contact tracing measures are in place in the event of a positive test.

Should clubs and associations have any concerns about a potential COVID-19 exposure they should call their local public health unit on 1300 066 055. We would ask that organisations do not contact members regarding potential COVID-19 exposures without first checking with their local public health unit.
